How do I access the MECS service?

Referral to the MECS service is open to anyone. Everyone who is referred to the service will be prioritised, based on the information provided to us, to ensure that the service can help those with the greatest levels of need and vulnerability. A senior member of staff will come to see you to assess your situation to see what kind of equipment you need. We will then make arrangements to install the required equipment wherever it is felt appropriate.

People who may be referred to the service include:

  • older/frail people
  • people with dementia
  • people with a disability or sensory impairment
  • people with a pre-disposition to falls or other accidents at home
  • people who have been in a violent/abusive relationship

You can download a referral form (PDF, 25KB)| from this page, which is to be used only for requesting a standard dispersed alarm – not the specialist telecare equipment. If you feel that you need to be referred for a specialist service|, please contact us using the details shown.
