Members of Caledonia Clubhouse can get involved in a number of different jobs/activities. Examples of these are outlined below.
Education and employment
Our education and employment unit has been designed to assist members to access college, voluntary organisations and vocational studies.
This gives members the opportunity for a change in direction or to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Maintenance
Our maintenance unit has several functions, which include external and internal maintenance of the clubhouse. There is a fundraising workshop, which includes craft design.
The garden at
Caledonia Clubhouse
In addition, we also maintain our own garden, which is an extension to our premises. Our garden project is a place where everyone can relax and enjoy its beauty.
Catering and snack bar
The role of this unit has an important function within Caledonia Clubhouse.
This is where members can get involved in the planning, and preparation of the lunch and weekly stocktaking and purchasing of the food orders.
The snack bar is a place where the members can relax from time to time and through the money generated it helps towards our social events.
Business administration
Business administration offers members opportunities for answering telephones, dealing with the mail, and welcoming new members and guests.
This unit is equipped with computers, fax and photocopier machines, which allow members to become involved in all aspects of the administration unit.
The social programme
Here at Caledonia Clubhouse we have a social group, which offers a wide variety of social activities. This is organised jointly by the members and staff.
Every member is encouraged to put forward ideas for the social programme and become more involved with the running of the group.
