Non Residential Charging Policy

Falkirk Council Social Work Service is committed to helping people live at home independently, safely and for as long as possible and will assess individuals care needs to ensure they receive the services they require.

However, to help us to continue to provide services to people with a range of needs, we have had to revise charges for some care and support services and Direct Payments. These revised charges may affect people getting services from us at the moment or those who may need them in the future.

The revised Policy for Non Residential Charging is effective from 01 November 2010. A Service User Leaflet has been developed to explain the details of this charging policy. This leaflet will be issued to all service users who are being assessed for Non Residential Community Care Services eg. Domiciallry Care, MECS, Day Care, Shopping Service etc.

All individuals being assessed for these services should be given the opportunity to complete an Application for Exemption Form. The purpose of this form is to allow us to carry out relevant checks to confirm if a charge should not be applied. If individuals do not complete this form then they will be charged the full and maximum rate for the services they receive for the date the services commence.
