How to comment on our services

The Social Work Service aims to provide high quality services for you. To help us to do this we need to know what you think about the service you received. Tell us what you think we got right, as well as what we did not get right. This helps us to make sure that our services are the best they can be for you in the future.

You can pass on any suggestions, comments or compliments to us by completing our short feedback form|.

Alternatively, you can pass any feedback to:

  • the member of staff who works with you
  • the member of staff's manager
  • the service director or your Councillor
  • the Care Commission (if the service is 'registered')

Of course, we hope that you are happy with the service, but if not then you have the right to make a complaint. The following information tells you how to do this:

  • In the first instance you should speak to the staff member providing the service you wish to complain about. If the matter can't be resolved then you can ask to speak to their manager. Then if you feel that your complaint has still not been resolved or handled satisfactorily you can make a formal complaint.

  • To make a formal complaint, you should forward the details of your complaint to the complaints officer who will acknowledge your complaint and will arrange for it to be investigated by an appropriate nominated Senior Officer.

We will aim to provide a full written response to your complaint within 28 days. If your complaint is complicated it may take a little longer but you will be contacted to inform you about progress. 

If you would like help to put your complaint in writing, please contact your local social work office.

If you are still not satisfied after receiving our full written response, your complaint will then be reviewed by the Director of Social Work Services.
