The fourth Leadership Forum was held at Falkirk Town Hall on Thursday 22 March.

Guest speaker Kathryn Rees, Assistant Director – Transformation, Wigan Council talked extensively about the Wigan Deal.

The Deal is an informal agreement between Wigan Council and everyone who works or lives there to work together to create a better borough. Wigan Council has committed to a series of pledges and in return need residents and businesses to play their part too. So far through working together they have saved £115m, but there’s still a long way to go.

Lesley Malkin provided an update on the Council’s Strategic Property Review, outlining the ambition for Falkirk to become a more Modern & Digital council.

Information Governance Manager, Wendy Barber also updated on the Information Working for You project and Rebecca McDonald, Change Manager, said a few words about the Smart Working, Smart Travel project.

Attendees completed an exercise on how we take some of the learning from Wigan and use it to enable and empower our communities and make our organisational culture fit for the future.

The next Leadership Forum will be held in June.
