In 2018 the Council successfully redeployed 50 employees in Falkirk Council for a variety of reasons including end to temporary posts, restructures and health reasons. 

There are lots of benefits of redeployment for both employees and recruiting managers including:

  • employees are able to continue working with the Council
  • time and money is saved on recruitment
  • vacancies can be filled by experienced people, already familiar with working in the Council
  • the Council retains valuable skills and experience.

Qualifying employees should be referred to redeployment in time to allow for a full redeployment search (up to 12 weeks).  Where there is a match and the redeployee meets the essential criteria for the post, a 4 week trial will be set up to allow the employee and the recruiting manager to see if the employee is the right fit for the post.
