Council of the Future vision

Make it happen – quick wins

  • Records Management recently supported a pilot project funded by Housing to move to paper-lite and new ways of working. This involved use of casual staff to assist with the cleansing and scanning of records. Going forward, it would be advantageous to use the learning from this to feed into a corporate approach.
  • Feedback from front facing officers on the new ways of working and co-location of services has been positive.

Key messages for Make it Happen Board

  • Culture and behaviour change is pivotal to successful delivery our transformational projects and this will be raised at the Make it Happen Board.
  • Practical steps are required to resolve some of the culture change required e.g. increase use of pool cars, reduce paper in offices, ensure staff are attending leadership training.
  • The speed of decision making can cause barriers to the pace of some projects.
