Drop by Abbotsford House in Bainsford on Tuesday 10th March from 12pm and you could bag yourself a second-hand bargain.

A pop-up shop has been created for the day where you will have the opportunity to pick up pre-loved items such as clothes, books and other treasures at bargain prices helping to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice charity.

It’s all part of #Passitonweek which aims to support the re-use of materials and items wherever possible.

Organiser Claire Marion said: “As a society we produce a lot of waste, for example making a coat generates about 110 kg of waste material. Many of the things we throw away haven’t reached the end of their useful life: a drill is used on average only 12 minutes during its entire life.

“This week is designed to highlight how easy it is to be part of the solution by giving items a second life.

“Employees can visit us between 12pm and 5pm and help to take part in the campaign to encourage more re-use of everyday items.”

You can find out more about reusing materials on our Reduce, repair and reuse page as well as what organisations exist locally to help promote a sustainable environment using our Sustainable Falkirk map.

You can also sell or buy pre-loved items using the “For sale” section of the intranet. New items are posted every day so keep an eye out.
