A new mega vehicle wash has been installed at Dalgrain Depot which will help keep up to 500 council vehicles spick and span each month.

Standing 5 meters tall and using 93% recycled water, the WNV-Systems 3 brush roll-over cleans everything from pool cars to bin lorries at the touch of a button.

The vehicle wash also removes the need for employees to drive fleet vehicles to external contractors to be cleaned, helping to save time as well as money.

Pat Taggart, Fleet Services Manager, said: “Our vehicle wash, which is one of only a handful in the local area capable of cleaning a wide range of vehicles, will keep our fleet in tip top condition and help save a significant amount of money over time, with the initial £140k capital investment needed to buy and install the machine recouped within the next three years.”

The vehicle wash is simple to operate and offers 7 different wash cycles, cleaning a car in just 6 minutes and a bin lorry in 15.

Employees looking to wash a council vehicle simply drive up to the machine, press the correct wash for the vehicle type - just like Zander Lister is pictured doing - and the machine then does all the hard work for you.

If assistance is needed, call Fleet Services on 01324 590413 or 590412 and a member of the team will provide a helping hand.

The machine is operational during workshop hours only (Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3.30pm).
