For the first time it is now possible to watch Council meetings on a YouTube live stream channel www.falkirk.gov.uk/live

It means anyone can watch anywhere as important decisions are made (or catch up shortly afterwards with the video recording).

Councillors have been meeting virtually since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak and using technology to continue their work.

The new service has also been promoted to the public using Twitter and Facebook.

Democratic Services manager, Brian Pirie explained: “It is really all about ensuring easy access to the public for Council meetings. Pre COVID-19, they could attend in person but since lockdown, that obviously cannot happen.

“It’s about making sure that meetings are transparent to everyone and this is an easy way of doing this.”
