The Firstcare Absence Reporting Pilot has been in operation since October 2020 in the following areas:

• SWAS – Care & Support at Home, Care Homes and Day Services
• Property & Asset Management (Building Maintenance)
• Roads & Grounds
• Waste Management

The effectiveness of this pilot depends on the extent to which it is used in participating areas.

We encourage all employees and managers in these areas to use the revised arrangements for reporting sickness absence.

This pilot has been extended until the end of May 2021 to allow for a full 6 month review and further updates will be provided following this review.
