Following on from the previous article in April, the Firstcare Absence Reporting Pilot has now been extended until end of June 2021 to allow for review. The pilot has been in operation since October 2020 in the following areas:

• SWAS - Care & Support at Home, Care Homes and Day Services
• Property & Asset Management (Building Maintenance)
• Roads & Grounds
• Waste Management

The effectiveness of this pilot depends on the extent to which it is used in participating areas. We encourage all employees and managers in these areas to use the revised arrangements for reporting sickness absence.
