It’s said there’s a book in everyone – but for teacher Lynne Barrie – there’s two with more to come!

Lynne’s first book – Dotty & Dee – was published in April 2021. And it’s going down a storm with parents and young children all over the world with amazing feedback coming from as far away as America and Canada.

An avid reader from an early age, Lynne went on to become a teacher, and has been based at Langlees primary for the past 10 years.

Dotty & Dee

Inspired by other authors and encouraged by her twin boys, husband and colleagues, Lynne started work on her first book Dotty & Dee two years ago.

The children’s picture book tells the story of two dinosaur sisters with a special bond. Dee is helping her blind sister Dotty on a journey to help her see again. It’s a story about love and friendship that all sisters should experience – one Lynne had with her own sister Nicola.

“I’ve been reading bedtime stories to my 7 year olds boys Ollie and Noah since they were babies. I’ve always been passionate about reading and love to see the pleasure they get from stories and how it helps to build and grow their imagination.

“I’ve had amazing feedback and messages about Dotty and Dee and I really hope my second book is as well received when its published later this year.”

Dotty & Dee is available on Amazon and Waterstones.

Lynne’s second book ‘The Pumpkin Patch’ will be out in August this year, just in time for Halloween.
