Contractors Maxi Construction have been appointed to take forward £500k of refurbishment work at Foundry, the new office accommodation in Larbert providing a back-office base for the Council.

Maxi carried out recent refurbishment work at Carronbank House and also constructed the visitor centre at the Kelpies.

Working with hub East Scotland, a public/private partnership organisation that delivers community infrastructure, they will carry out work including:

• Re-fitting of the kitchen to a full production standard
• Wheelchair accessibility improvements
• Installation of new showers

Work is expected to start mid-August and be completed by mid-October, ready for a phased relocation of teams to the building.

Progress on the project has been affected by construction industry slowdowns and supply issues, which are being experienced across the country connected to COVID-19, Brexit and high demand for construction work.
