Scotland’s Climate Week will take place between the 13th and 19th of September.

This year’s Climate Week is particularly important as it is in the run-up to the international COP26 climate conference, taking place in Glasgow in November.

Events and activities are planned as part of the wider ‘Countdown to COP’ across Scotland.

Climate emergency

Falkirk Council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019 and we are working to reach Net Zero in terms of our direct emissions as an organisation and to support decarbonisation across Falkirk District in a way which is fair and improves the lives of people.

Swap 1 Get 2 Free

8-19th September, 11am-3pm

One Planet Forth Valley are offering two items to take away from their swap shop per one item donated! Come to the CSREC office at the Howgate Shopping Centre to find out more!

B.Y.O.Bit of Furniture

15th September, 10am-1pm

Come along and join One Planet Forth Valley for a creative afternoon, upcycling something of your choice. Bring along a sad or tired item from your home or garden (small cabinet, table, lamp, plant pot...) and give it a new lease of life!

We will be using chalk paint which adheres to most surfaces. All paint, brushes etc. will be provided but feel free to bring along any items you like, such as wallpaper samples, new handles etc. Come to the CSREC office at the Howgate Shopping Centre and let your creativity run wild!

Sew and Chat: One Planet Forth Valley Online Gathering

16th September, 7-8pm

Do you like sewing, crafting, crocheting etc and want company in the comfort of your own home? Sew together online with other chatty people. Bring your own project and sew away! DM or Email OPFV@csrec.org.uk to register your interest!

Awesome Autumn at Zetland Park

19th September, 12-4pm

Come and learn about what has happened to the trees and wildlife during autumn at Zetland Park. There will be lots to get involved in including scavenger hunts, leaf mulching and a range of nature crafts.This free family event is suitable for children 2-12 and their grown-ups. There is no need to book. Please wear clothing suitable for being outdoors.
