Council employees are being asked to take two-minutes to fill in a short survey.

The survey aims to highlight the areas where the Council is supporting its staff well, and the areas where improvements need to be made.

About the survey

You aren't asked for your name, just the service and division that you work for

  • There are 7 statements listed
  • You respond to each statement using a scale (strongly disagree to strongly agree)
  • The survey closes on 9 December

How we’ll use the results

The results of the survey will be used by Organisational Development to develop an action plan that will help us get better at supporting our employees.

The plan will be used by managers and teams to move us in the right direction.

That is why it is important that as many of you take the survey as possible, as the higher the number of responses, the more accurate a picture we’ll have and the more realistic the plan will be.

Keeping you informed

Once the results have been analysed, we’ll upload them to our website and share them via Yammer and the employee news page.

Once the action plan is created, we will share this with you via the same channels. It will also be shared directly with you by senior leadership and your manager.

What then?

Some of you will recognise the statements being used as they formed part of a survey issued two years ago. By repeating the statements, your responses will help us measure progress made since 2020.

We may ask follow-up questions at future employee listening events to help us develop the action plan. Once the plan is launched, we will ask you to comment on how we are progressing against the actions listed.

Moving forward, we plan to ask for your views on a more regular basis, using the same questions to measure how views have changed and the success of the action plan.

Progress will be monitored by the Wellbeing Group chaired by Chief Executive Kenneth Lawrie.
