Falkirk Council’s Growth and Investment Unit has announced key speakers at this year’s Business Panel Conference.
 
Stephen Boyle, Head of Group Economics at Royal Bank of Scotland will address delegates on the theme of the conference; Going for Growth, providing insight into what is currently driving growth in today’s tough economic climate as well as future gazing on what will be driving Scotland’s economy in the next few years.
 
The 2013 Annual Business Panel Conference, a free event held for the Falkirk business community, has already attracted registration from over 140 companies. The event will take place on Friday, 20 September at Macdonald Inchyra from 10am – 1pm (registration from 9am).
 
Last year, the interactive conference attracted record numbers who benefitted from networking opportunities and motivational speakers throughout its half-day format.
 
Other speakers this year include Managing Director of BT Regions, Brendan Dick, Stuart Wallace, Divisional Director of Forth Port, Gerhard Engleder, Managing Director at CalaChem and Helix Project Programme Director, Mike King.
 
Falkirk Council’s Chief Executive, Mary Pitcaithly will also address attendees and provide an update on initiatives and investment to support the local business community and the area as a whole.
 
Councillor Dennis Goldie, Falkirk Council's spokesperson on economic development said: “Feedback from previous conferences has demonstrated that local business people find this event to be extremely valuable, which is important when time is precious in this difficult trading environment. We have some excellent speakers lined up for this year with the aim to provide insight into the local and national landscape as well as inspiration to drive growth.”
