Local businesses across the Falkirk Council area who have yet not applied for business support during the COVID-19 are being urged any applications in as soon as possible.

The various schemes designed to support businesses are closing on Friday 10 July. This includes the Business Support fund, the Self-Employed Hardship fund and the B & B Hardship fund.

Over three months since the COVID-19 lockdown was imposed, 2010 local business have successfully claimed £22.5m of funding with the expectation this will reach £24m by the deadline for applications.

Councillor David Alexander, spokesperson for Economic Development said: “These funds have been vital in supporting more than two thousand local businesses during the coronavirus outbreak.

“There will still be some local businesses out there who have yet to apply or may think that they are not eligible without checking.

“We can give advice and support in the applications and would urge anyone to get in touch or visit our website for more details before the closing date.”

Funds for business support are administered by Falkirk Council on behalf of Scottish Government.
