The Schemes are delivered in partnership with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Any application you make for a payment from the Schemes is made directly to BEIS. It is also a data controller of your personal data and has its own Privacy Notices in place.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect:

  • your name, where you live, date of birth, postcode and address, including when using the address lookup function
  • your email and phone number when you have provided them
  • bank account details to help us identify you and facilitate payment
  • questions or feedback you leave, including your email address if you contact us
  • evidence of power of attorney or other legal evidence to act on your behalf

Where do we collect information from?

When you make an application to the Schemes, BEIS shares the following information with us:

  • your name, address, date of birth, postcode and email address
  • bank account details
  • documents you upload as proof of address

We may also need to collect information directly from you.


Who might we share your information with?

We share information with BEIS for the purpose of administration, delivery, reporting, monitoring, evaluation and fraud prevention necessary within the Schemes.

The Council has a duty to protect public funds. We may check your information within the Council for verification purposes and/or for the prevention of fraud. We may share your information with other organisations where we are required to do so for the purposes of the prevention or detection of crime.


Will we send your information outwith the UK?

We do not transfer your information outwith the UK. Information shared with BEIS may be transferred securely in the European Economic Area. Please see the BEIS privacy notice.


How long do we keep hold of your information?

We keep your information for 7 years.


What are my rights in relation to the information held about me?

You have the following rights:

  • To see any information held about you by making a subject access request.
  • To withdraw consent at any time, where the legal basis for processing is consent.
  • To data portability, where the legal basis for processing is (i) consent or (ii) performance of a contract.
  • To request rectification or erasure of your information, where data protection legislation allows this.

Do I have a right to complain about the way information has been used?

Do I have to provide my personal data to you?

You do not have to provide information to us, but we may then not be able to provide you with payments from the Schemes.

We do not use automated decision making processes.
