The Environmental Enforcement team's main duties are to investigate environmental crime such as fly tipping, dog fouling, litter and reported incidents falling under the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010. They can offer advice on local services, housing and environmental issues.

The team consists of 4 officers; 1 team leader and 3 enforcement officers. They patrol the Falkirk Local Authority area between 7am and 8pm, 5 days a week.

The team wear a predominantly black uniform but may also be seen wearing Hi Vis jackets or waistcoats. They also wear personal CCTV cameras, which are only used when they engage with the public. They have access to vehicles and bicycles and can be approached by any member of the public looking for help or assistance.

Officers can issue Fixed Penalty Notices, warning letters or Dog Control Notices.

The team work closely with other agencies and departments such as our Community Estates Team (Housing Services), Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, our Waste Strategy Team and Street Cleansing services.
