Falkirk Council scooped two top industry awards at a glittering ceremony in Edinburgh last night.

Work carried out by the Communications and Participation Unit helped the Council pick up a first and second place at the annual Chartered Institute of Public Relations awards for Scotland – the Oscars of the communications industry.

A ‘Gold’ was awarded for internal communications work around the Council of the Future engagement process, with ‘Silver’ awarded for the outstanding way the Council responded to the Beast from the East earlier this year.

Judges scrutinise each entry against a number of strict criteria ensuring that the finalists represent the highest standards of communications and public relations work in Scotland.

The awards represent best practice from both the private and public sectors and are judged by senior practitioners in the profession with hundreds of entries received each year.
