Revenues and Benefits employees are proving to be big hitters when it comes to dressing down for charity.

Nearly £3000 was raised last year for a different good cause nominated by employees each month, including raising over £800 for Jack, the son of Paul Gregory, our mail room assistant, and his wife Jill, who used to work in Revenues & Benefits in Callendar Square.

Jack was born with a rare heart condition and had to undergo life saving surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital before spending a further six months at the world renowned hospital and another month at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

The money raised by Revenues and Benefits was donated to a crowdfunding page set up by Paul’s wife, Jill, to help cover the cost of travelling between Falkirk and London.

Thankfully, Jack (pictured on the left with his big brothers, Jay (centre) and Tristan) has made a full recovery and celebrated his first birthday on December 8th.

Paul said: “Because we wanted to provide as normal a home life as possible to our other children, Jay and Tristan, Jill and I had to commute and live between our home and London, so we set up the crowdfunding page to help make that possible. We were bowled over by people’s generosity and would like to thank all who donated.”

Organisers Kat Walker and Jill Gregory said the team were delighted that their donation helped the Gregory-family at an extremely difficult time in their lives. Kat explained: “Monthly dress down days have been a long tradition where we all donate £1 to ditch the formal wear.

“The different charities are nominated by our own staff and we try to support local branches as much as possible. Over the last few years we’ve extended our fundraising efforts to include bake sales, tombolas and raffles, all of which are a great success and do a great job at raising spirits in the office – after all, who doesn’t love a bit of cake?

“Thanks to everyone’s help, we managed to raise nearly £3000 in 2018, which is a fantastic sum for good causes.”

Kat hopes to better this amount next year as new colleagues join from the Community Advice team.
