Falkirk Council is teaming up with Balfour Beatty later this week (27 October) to showcase what future opportunities there may be for local businesses to help support the A9/A904 improvement works at Middlefield.

A ‘Meet the Buyer’ event is taking place at Forth Valley College between 8:30am and 11:30am where local businesses can hear about potential opportunities for them to get involved with the project.

In particular, organisers have indicated that they are ideally looking for business from areas such as earth and groundworks; traffic management; concrete works; drainage, road surfacing; fencing, street lighting; office cleaning and general labour amongst others.

To date, more than 80 businesses have indicated they are attending the event that aims to highlight what they can do prior before contracts are issued.

Attendees will also be able to speak directly with representatives from Balfour Beattie and Falkirk Council to learn more about the work being carried out.

The event is free however you must book your place beforehand via the Supplier Development Programme website.

Depute Leader of Falkirk Council Paul Garner explained: “This is a great opportunity to ensure that local businesses are in the best position possible to capitalise on the work taking place at the site.

“With a better understanding of what is needed beforehand, they can ensure that they can put forward potential bids that are as comprehensive as possible.

“It also provides a great networking opportunity for businesses to make new contacts.”
