Anyone who has not received a polling card for the upcoming UK Parliamentary General Election on Thursday 7 May should register online to make sure they can vote.

With a cut off date of Monday 20 April for registration, there is now under two weeks left to register to make sure you can vote on polling day.

You can register online via the About My Vote website – you need your national insurance number to register and the process only takes a few minutes to complete.

Pete Wildman, Electoral Registration Officer, said: “Polling cards should be with everyone registered to vote in the Falkirk Council area now.

“If you haven’t received your polling card yet you should act immediately and register online to vote so you don’t get turned away on election day.

“I urge anyone looking to vote by post to apply to do so now as the deadline is fast approaching.”

Anyone interested in voting by post in the election should apply for a postal vote as soon as possible. Forms are available in local libraries or can be downloaded from the Electoral Registration Officer’s website and once completed should be posted or emailed to the ERO.

The deadline for new postal and postal proxy votes is 5:00pm on Tuesday 21 April. For new proxy votes, the deadline is 5:00pm on Tuesday 28 April.

For more information, you can contact the ERO by calling 01786 892289 or by emailing registration@centralscotland-vjb.gov.uk.
