The MET Office amber warning in relation to wind affecting the Council area remains in place until 18.00 hours today, with the winds forecast to relent later in the day, however a yellow warning remains in force until 22.00. These warnings can be viewed here

These warnings note risk of flying debris, risk of damage to buildings and travel disruption.

The Council’s  Roads and Grounds teams have been working throughout the day dealing with fallen trees and branches, and will follow-up tomorrow to ensure that all reported matters will be dealt with.

  • B816, Allandale – Tree fallen on powerlines – Ongoing Incident – Scottish Power operatives dealing with this directly. Currently closed by Police Scotland
  • Earls Gate Roundabout, Grangemouth – Closed by Police Scotland due to dangerous tree. Independent tree surgeon en route. Currently Closed as precaution
  • Glen Road, Torwood – Currently closed – Signs and cones in place. Tree blocking the road and has damaged BT lines– Operatives will attend as soon as resources allow. Currently Closed
  • Champany – Tree partially blocking carriageway at Champany Corner – Signs and cones in place; traffic moving; Operatives will attend again to fully remove obstruction. Partially Blocked

Glasgow Road in Camelon has now re-opened following a serious road traffic incident this morning.

The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued Flood Warnings for certain areas across Scotland, however at this time there are no active flood warnings for the Council area.
