The Care Inspectorate has given Summerford Care Home a clean bill of health following its unannounced inspection in March 2019.

All six of the requirements that were detailed following an inspection in January 2019 have now been met in areas such as training, health and safety, staffing levels and patient care plans.

Care Inspectorate staff spoke with residents and relatives during their visit to hear first hand with residents speaking ‘very highly of the staff and members of the management team’.

They also noted ‘residents were very positive about the recent decoration in the home and new furnishings’ as well as ‘relatives spoke highly about the standard of care’ and ‘staff were caring, patient and compassionate’.

Councillor Fiona Collie, spokesperson for Health and Social Care said: “The original inspection highlighted a number of short comings in the level of service provided at Summerford however, the steps we took straight away as well as the work we have carried out over the past months have ensured that inspectors were able to say we had met all their concerns.

“We will ensure that these high standards continue to be maintained and that residents and their relatives can have confidence in the level of care they receive.”
