Update on Kinnaird power outage Tuesday 23 Jan 6pm

GTC has now removed the tree that had fallen earlier this week on an electricity substation in the Kinnaird area disrupting power supplies.

Engineers have been working throughout the day to restore power to affected homes and businesses.

The temporary rest centre will remain open until 8pm today to support households affected.  Local schools will re-open as normal tomorrow morning.

Statement from GTC to customers:

Due to onsite conditions caused by Storm Jocelyn, GTC has had to stop work this afternoon for the safety of our engineers.

GTC is offering reimbursement for a hotel stay at a reasonable price, as well as £10 per person, with a maximum of £50 per household, for a hot meal this evening; also £10 per person, with a maximum of £50 per household, for breakfast tomorrow morning.

Please ensure you keep all of your receipts so we can reimburse you accordingly. A further update will be available from 08:00 tomorrow morning, once GTC has reassessed onsite conditions. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
