Times move on, attitudes change, people change. Retirement is an important milestone in one's life, yet, surprisingly many people are not prepared for the opportunities and changes in their future lives.

We are offering an online pre-retirement course that helps you think ahead to your retirement days. Included in the training are the following subjects:

  • Changes to lifestyles
  • Income needs in retirement
  • The State Pension
  • Inflation in retirement
  • Taxation
  • Employer specific workplace pension
  • Savings and investments
  • Estate Planning

It is suggested that the best time to attend a course is 18 to 24 months prior to retiring. Should you wish to attend, please discuss and agree your attendance with your line manager, then email corporate.support@falkirk.gov.uk.

Following your pre-retirement course, Police Scotland (Forth Valley Division) are offering a new additional session providing an insight into Investment Fraud covering topics such as:

  • What is Investment Fraud
  • What are the common types of Investment Fraud
  • How to protect yourself against this fraud type
  • Who are the FCA

Investments can work to your advantage but this will give an insight into the possible pitfalls and provide you with the confidence to consider all options prior to parting with any money.
