Three-day training course in the principles of first aid as laid down in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. On completion of the training course, candidates will undertake an exam to test their competency in first aid.

On passing the examination, both theory and practical, the candidates will be registered for a period of 3 years from that day, to act as a first aider within the workplace.

At the end of the Standard First Aid Course you should be able to:

• Recognise the nature of injury or illness.
• Until further help arrives at the accident scene, or a place of safety, administer first aid treatment.
