Training will be information based, with some interaction, and will cover the following issues:

  • To assess the nature of formal and informal interventions required for the service users and the alleged perpetrator.
  • To separate out issues of risk in relation to the victim and other vulnerable adults and the perpetrator.
  • To use the law appropriately to deliver protection and where appropriate sanctions.

This course is split into two one day sessions:

Day 1 – will focus on working with people who are harmed and those who may cause harm.

Day 2 – will focus on issues arising from or the role of services and systems in causing or colluding with harm.

This course is aimed at:

  • Team Managers
  • Council Officers
  • Social Workers
  • Social Care Officers/Workers.
