Who can apply to the scheme?

The Rent Deposit Assistance Scheme is open to applicants:

  • aged 16 years and over
  • are homeless or threatened with homeless
  • on a low income and therefore unable to raise the deposit on their own

How does the Rent Deposit Assistance Scheme work?

Falkirk Council will pay a deposit directly to a tenant's landlord who will follow the normal process of lodging the deposit in a deposit bond scheme. The tenant will then repay the deposit to Falkirk Council over a maximum of 12 months.

How much can I receive for my deposit?
