Almost 500 pupils and parents attended this year’s Careers Fayre at Bo’ness Academy, making it the biggest version of the event since it launched three years ago.

The event brought together more than 60 exhibitors, including employers, training providers, and further education representatives, giving young people the chance to explore a wide range of future career options.

Stalls from all curricular areas and Pupil Support were included, helping pupils understand how the subjects they study will link directly to different jobs and career paths.

Organisers said the scale of this year’s fayre showed the growing appetite from both families and employers to connect education with work opportunities.

Catriona Reid, Head Teacher of Bo’ness Academy, said:

This year’s fayre showed the real value of bringing schools, families and employers together under one roof.

“Pupils could see how the subjects they study every day connect to real careers, while parents had the chance to explore the many routes open to their children. It was an inspiring event that gave everyone a clearer view of the future.

Pupils were able explore a number of different career paths.

Exhibitors included representatives from across a range of industries, including Falkirk Council, ScotRail, the Scottish Parliament, emergency services, universities, Edinburgh Airport, INEOS, and Specsavers, who offered advice, demonstrations, and information on pathways into their trades.

Many reported a strong interest from pupils, who were keen to learn more about apprenticeships, training and further study.

The fayre is expected to return next year, building on its success and continuing to help pupils and families prepare for the future.
