Community Engagement Strategy 2025-2028
The new Community Engagement Strategy 2025 – 2028 was approved by the Council at the end of December 2024.
It sets out the council’s commitment to engage and consult with our citizens, communities and partners and to deliver our vision of having strong communities where inequalities are reduced, and lives are improved.
The Strategy reflects our obligations under The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 to inform, consult, engage and empower residents with decisions affecting their lives.
The Strategy will ensure that the voices and views of all groups and individuals are listened to, recognised, respected, valued and acted upon.
When developing this Strategy, we engaged with a range of individuals, groups and organisations including residents and citizens; protected characteristic groups; third sector agencies; Community Councils and Elected Members.
We will continue to engage and consult with you to refine, develop, and co-produce our engagement strategy for future years.
After 18 months we will formally review the strategy in partnership with our citizens, communities and partners and provide a refreshed document based on the findings.
Community Engagement Charter
The principles of the Charter are embedded in the Community Engagement Strategy and reflect the National Standards for Community Engagement.
An internal framework to guide and support Falkirk Council services, in effective community engagement, has also been developed.
