A new strategic vision for libraries was approved by the Council in 2023.

Embedding themes from the Falkirk Plan as well as Scotland's national strategy for public libraries, the strategy will ensure the service best meets the needs of Falkirk's communities while delivering business efficiencies.

The Strategic Plan for Falkirk Council Libraries 2023-2027:

• Sets out the strategic direction for Falkirk Council Libraries for the next 5 years
• Shows how the library service works with communities and partners
• Outlines the priorities Falkirk libraries are working to improve and how they align to local and national policies
• Details how the service will monitor and measure outcomes.

The strategic plan was produced after an extensive consultation period, where more than 2,600 people responded to an online survey, with more than 200 attending in-person events.
