Corporate Procurement Strategy and Annual Procurement Report
Procurement Strategy
The Procurement Strategy covers the period 2024/25 to 2028/29. It shall be reviewed annually in line with the requirements of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 and the Council's Annual Procurement Report publication.
The Strategy includes five strategic key areas:
(1) Compliance and skills development - To ensure that staff have the procurement knowledge and capability to perform their role and support the procurement people of tomorrow.
(2) Local supplier engagement - To encourage and support early supplier engagement to improve the ability for local suppliers to compete for contracts.
(3) Community Wealth Building – Fair Work First and Community Benefits To use procurement activity to support Community Wealth Building through the delivery of community benefits and promotion of fair working practices.
(4) Sustainable procurement delivery - To utilise the power of procurement to achieve greater social, economic, and environmental benefits.
(5) Contract and supplier management - To use contract management to improve the services delivered by Falkirk Council and to increase the outcomes achieved.
Annual Procurement Reports
Our Annual Procurement Report covering the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 is the Council's 7th annual procurement report.
It outlines how its procurement activity has complied with the outcomes of the Procurement Strategy, provides a summary of regulated procurement activities completed during the period, and details planned procurement activities over the period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2026.
