What happens when I make a request?

We will carry out a site survey to see if the location is suitable. If a new bus stop is approved, a new bus stop pole will be installed within four weeks. If a new shelter is approved, local residents will be asked their views and we will look at how often the shelter will be used. If this is successful, a shelter will be installed when funding is available.

I am concerned about anti-social behaviour in a bus shelter. What should I do?

Antisocial behaviour should be reported to Police Scotland by dialling 101. You should also let us know by contacting:

I do not want a bus stop or shelter outside my home/premises. Can it be moved?

We will not move a bus stop or shelter unless there is a safety issue or there has been antisocial behaviour which has had Police Scotland involvement.

It may be possible to move a bus stop or shelter if, for example, a householder wants to create a driveway in their garden. This will only happen if a new suitable location is found close by. The householder will have to pay all costs for the relocation.

Can I advertise my business on a Falkirk Council bus shelter?

No. No advertising is allowed on any of our bus shelters. We will charge for the removal of any advertisements and any damage caused.
