Falkirk Visitor Levy
Falkirk Council is seeking views on a proposed Visitor Levy for the Falkirk area.
The consultation is open from 2 September 2026 to 25 November 2026.
What is a visitor levy?
A Visitor Levy is a charge on overnight stays in paid accommodation. Under the Visitor Levy (Scotland) Act 2024, councils can choose whether to introduce a levy, with any funds raised being invested in supporting local services, facilities and infrastructure that benefit visitors and local communities.
Following earlier engagement this year, Falkirk Council has developed a Draft Visitor Levy Scheme and is now inviting feedback from residents, visitors, accommodation providers, businesses, community groups and anyone with an interest in the area. The consultation will help inform a decision on whether a Visitor Levy should be introduced in Falkirk and, if so, how it should operate.
