This course aims to raise awareness of dementia related conditions, promoting early recognition and appropriate responses across front line public service staff, health staff, private and voluntary sector and people in the community involved in the care and support of adults.

Dementia is a national priority, focusing particularly in Scotland on key areas such as early diagnosis, improving care pathways, and public awareness. This e-learning course is designed to promote greater awareness of the impact that dementia related illness can have on people's lives and to alert staff so that they will be able to respond effectively.

You will be aware dementia is receiving greater coverage in the media. During this course you will explore some common misconceptions to help you establish a more accurate understanding of what "dementia" means.
