What certificates cannot be ordered from us?
- A certificate from the Adopted Children's Register in Scotland. For more information please visit Order a copy of a certificate - National Records of Scotland (NRS).
- A certificate for an event taking place in England and Wales. For more information please visit Order a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership certificate - GOV.UK.
- A certificate for an event which occurred in Northern Ireland. For more information please visit the nidrect webpage.
- A certificate for an event which occurred within the last 2 years should be obtained from the Registrar in the District where the event was registered as we likely do not have access to this.
- Scottish Divorce certificates, 1984 onwards, can be obtained from National Records of Scotland. For more information please visit Order a certificate - Scotland's People.
- Scottish Dissolution certificates, 2007 onwards, can be obtained from National Records of Scotland. For more information please visit Order a certificate - Scotland's People.
How much does a certificate cost?
The statutory fee for a certificate is £15. If ordering 2 or more of the same certificate, the first certificate will cost £15 and each additional copy will cost £10.
If you are applying within one month of the date of registration then the fee is £10. The event must be registered in Falkirk.These certificates will be posted to you.
Priority requests
The cost of a priority request is £10.
The priority service is only available for collection of certificates from the Falkirk Registration Office between 3pm and 4:30pm, if the request was made prior to 1:30pm.
If the request is made after 1:30pm the certificate will be available for collection after 3pm the following working day.
Searches
Our registration service can provide a family tree search service and registration staff can help you search digital images for a fee. You can also get paper prints of certain records. You will require an appointment to do a family tree search.
