For a temporary period of three months, we are increasing the number of properties advertised on Homespot for Home Seekers.  From 27 October, 70% of properties advertised will be for Home Seekers.

This change is necessary due to the severe pressure our Homelessness and Allocations services are under due to the impacts of the pandemic.  The number of properties used as temporary accommodation has increased, and it currently takes around 352 days to re-house Home Seekers.

This may be disappointing to Home Movers and Home Starters but this process will ensure we are doing our best to help those most in need, in line with our Rapid Rehousing Action Plan.

We aim to reduce the time it takes for home seekers to be housed, avoid the use of unsuitable accommodation such as bed and breakfasts, and ultimately return properties used as temporary accommodation to mainstream letting.
