Adaptations for Private Landlord tenants
Having difficulty getting around your house because of health or mobility problems?
Getting special equipment, altering your home or moving to a more suitable property may make living at home easier for you.
You should discuss any possible adaptations with your landlord.
Simple Adaptations: Adults can complete a self-assessment on the Living Well Falkirk website: Living Well Falkirk to identify simple things you can do to stay as independent as you age. The assessment may recommend small adaptations to your home and will link you with the Living Well Falkirk Team who will help with this. Living Well will liaise with your landlord for permission to undertake the works.
Major Adaptations: To get funding assistance for major adaptations, you must have an assessment carried out, usually by an Occupational Therapist. Contact Social Work Adult Services to discuss an assessment. Contact 01324 506070, Option 3.
Please see our Scheme of Assistance for information about the Mandatory Grant Assistance you are entitled to and the grant process.
Our care and repair service manages the grant process and can provide advice to adapt your home.
