Flood Protection Support
We are offering a Flood Protection Support Scheme to assist residents and businesses at risk of flooding. The scheme subsidises the cost of property flood resilience products, helping to protect homes and businesses. Eligible participants will receive a 30% subsidy towards selected flood protection products, which include:
- Sandbags (filled and unfilled)
- Hydrosacks
- Puddle Pumps
- Toilet Bungs
- Airbrick Snorkels
- Flood Defence Barriers
- Anti-Flood Airbricks
- One-way Weep Vents
- Flood Doors
The scheme operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum subsidy of £1,000 per property or business, subject to budget availability. Falkirk Council will provide guidance on suitable products through home visits, but the final decision and purchase responsibility will remain with the homeowner or business owner.
How to apply and what happens after
Check eligibility
To apply, complete Application Form A and email it to the Flooding Team at FloodProtectionSupport@falkirk.gov.uk.
Home visit
Once your application is received, a member of the Flooding Team will arrange a home visit to assess your property and recommend suitable flood protection products.
Product selection
After the home visit, you will need to complete Application Form B to confirm and order your chosen products. While Falkirk Council will provide recommendations, the final decision is yours.
Homeowner agreement
Before receiving the subsidised products, you will need to sign a Homeowner Agreement, acknowledging your responsibility for maintaining the products after purchase.
The scheme will continue until the annual budget is fully allocated. For further guidance, applicants will also be referred to the Scottish Flood Forum.
