This notice provides details of what information we collect from you, what we do with it, and who it might be shared with for our Digital Inclusion Project.
Why do we collect this information?
The information is being collected for the following purposes:
- To provide you with a prepaid SIM card.
- To enable us to contact you and monitor the status of the project.

What information do we collect about you?
We may collect the following information (but only where it is relevant to your circumstances):
- Name
- Address
- Contact details
- Household composition
- Housing tenure (ie if you rent a house, live in temporary accommodation)
- If anyone in your household has a disability
- Information about your employment status
- Information about your income
- Other additional information which is relevant to your personal circumstances
- Your communications with us.
Where do we collect information from?
We normally collect information directly from the person who makes a referral on your behalf.
To verify the information you give us, we may also check information held by the Council's Revenues and Benefits team about your entitlement to Council Tax Reduction.
Who might we share your information with?
We will share limited information the person who makes a referral for you. We will only share your basic information with them, limited to what we need to make a decision (such as you confirming your eligibility). We will also tell them the outcome of the referral, and the information needed to arrange delivery of your SIM card.
We may share information with the Good Things Foundation, the charity responsible for providing the SIM cards. This information is used by them to analyse the outcomes their support is helping achieve. During the referral process, your referrer will ask you if you consent to this. This consent is voluntary, and the decision will have no impact on the outcome of the referral.
We also have a duty to protect public funds. We may check your information within the Council for verification purposes and/or for the prevention of fraud. We may share your information with other organisations where we are required to do so for the purposes of the prevention or detection of crime.
How long do we keep hold of your information?
Your information is held for the SIM card's duration, and then for a further 2 years after it ends.
Do I have to provide my personal data to you?
You do not have to provide information to us. If you don't, we will not be able to provide you with a SIM card.
