Frequently asked questions
My child wants to cycle to school but I don’t feel they are safe. How can I get him/her some training?
You should ask your child's school if they offer Bikeability Scotland cycle training. If not, the school should contact our Cycling Officer to arrange training.
I want to be involved in training my children at our local school. What do I do?
Please contact the school to offer your services as a volunteer.
I want to cycle to work, but don’t feel confident cycling on the road. What can I do?
Ask your employer if they can set up a Commuter Cycle Training Course. This can be done through Cycling Scotland or with the help of our Cycling Officer. If you are a returning cyclist, Essential Cycle Skills courses are offered on an "as needed" basis. Contact the Cycling Officer for information on 07923 137809 or 01324 851531 or email transport@falkirk.gov.uk.
How can I get more involved in cycling in the Falkirk area?
You can get more involved in cycling as a volunteer Bikeability Trainer, through volunteering with another local project, or by starting your own project or volunteering as a ride leader. For more information, contact our Cycling Officer.
Help! I don’t know how to fix my bike! Who can help me?
You could ask your local bike shop or Recyke a Bike, who offer courses to fix your own bike.
