Bidding for homes

We advertise available homes every Wednesday.

  • You choose which homes you want to bid for
  • You can usually only bid for homes in your applicant group

Applicant groups

  • Home Seekers – people assessed as homeless or threatened with homelessness
  • Home Movers – current Falkirk Council tenants, or tenants of a Housing Association in the Falkirk area
  • Home Starters – all other housing circumstances (such as private tenant, living with family or friends, or owner occupier)

Some homes are advertised as "All groups". Anyone can bid for these.

Adapted properties

Some homes are adapted for specific needs.

  • These are advertised as "Adapted" properties
  • You can bid for these if:
  • you have a medical recommendation, and
  • your priority band includes F (for example, Band 1F or Band 3F)

To be considered for an adapted property, you must complete a Functional Needs Assessment.

If your circumstances change

You must tell us if your situation changes so we can assess your application correctly.

Tell us if:

  • someone moves in or out of your household
  • your health needs change
  • you change your address
