How can I organise a bulky uplift?
You can book a bulky uplift by completing the online request form or you can call us on 01324 506070.
You must tell us all of the items you would like us to uplift.
You are limited to 5 items for each uplift.
Where should I leave my items for collection?
You will be asked where the items will be left for collection when you book a bulky uplift.
Your items must be outside grouped together on ground level and accessible by 6:30am on the day of the uplift.
The preferred collection point would be the front of your property - please note we are unable to collect from inside your property or from outbuildings such as a shed or garage.
Take care not to block access to buildings and bin stores with your items.
Can items be collected from inside my house?
No.
Items need be accessible for the collection team and must presented outside the house. At the time booking you will be asked to state where the items will be left for collection.
Can I add to my bulky uplift order?
Yes. If you wish to add items, you must tell us 48 hours before your confirmed bulky uplift collection date.
You are limited to 5 items for each uplift.
How do I pay for a bulky uplift?
You will be asked to pay for your bulky uplift at the time of booking. This can be done using the online order form.
You can pay using a debit card by calling 01324 506070 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:30pm).
What happens to the items once they are collected?
The items we collect will be separated to ensure they are reused, recycled or composted as much as possible.
Is there any discount on the cost for a bulky uplift if I am an OAP or unemployed?
Eligible residents in receipt of means tested Council Tax reduction (excluding discount for single occupancy) are entitled to one uplift at a discounted rate of £25 per year (from 1 April 2025 -31 March 2026) Any additional uplift requests will be charged at full rate i.e. £50 per request.
What day will my bulky uplift take place?
Each area has an allocated collection day for bulky uplifts. All bulky uplifts must be requested no later than 12:30pm the day before your area's allocated collection day. Where possible please present your items at the front of your property ready for collection on the allocated collection day.
We will endeavour to collect your uplift on a scheduled uplift date, depending on demand, we cannot guarantee this will be achieved. Please continue to leave your items available for collection until we attend, if your request is not completed within 2 weeks of the scheduled collection date, please contact wasteservices@falkirk.gov.uk quoting your bulky uplift reference.

*If you live in Bo'ness, Blackness, Grangemouth or Skinflats please request your bulky uplift before 12:30pm on the Friday before your allocated collection day. Any requests logged after 12:30pm on Friday will be collected on Monday, the following week.
Am I still entitled to a free bulky uplift?
It was agreed, and approval granted, at a Council executive meeting in January 2025, that a 50% discount model for bulk uplifts for residents on qualifying benefits would be implemented from 01 April 2025. This replaces the previous model offering one free collection per year for eligible residents.

Will you uplift DIY materials?
Yes. Please refer to the more detailed list on MyFalkirk when requesting your bulky uplift.
If my bulky waste items aren't collected, am I entitled to a refund?
If items presented are not as described when making the booking, or do not follow guidance provided eg a fridge or freezer contains food, then no refund will be provided.
