The club will lease the pavilion for £1 a year and continue using it as a base for grassroots football.

Carron Huskies has operated the facility under an interim arrangement since October 2025, with more than 200 people now using it each week.

The club does not charge membership subscriptions for children and young people, helping to remove cost as a barrier to taking part. It has 130 girls among its membership.

Glen Park Pavilion was identified for closure through the Council's Strategic Property Review, which aims to reduce the number of buildings the Council manages while supporting community groups to take on facilities they want to keep in use. The pavilion is relatively new and in good condition.

Under the lease, Carron Huskies will take responsibility for repairs, insurance and future maintenance costs for the pavilion and the surrounding path, stairs and railings.

The clubs' ambitions include improving access to facilities for other local groups and sports clubs.

An independent valuation identified the pavilion's rental value at £2,000 a year. The Council's assessment found that the wider community benefits of the lease, including more than £27,600 a year in volunteer time and an annual saving of £1,595, outweighed the loss of that rental income.
