Take Pride in Falkirk

Our Litter Prevention Action Plan actions are designed to create and facilitate a culture of zero tolerance towards litter to keep Falkirk clean and beautiful.

The Litter Prevention Action Plan outlines our actions against each of these areas:

  • Information - ensuring effective and consistent messaging to prevent littering
  • Infrastructure - improving the facilities and services needed to reduce litter and promote recycling
  • Enforcement - strengthening the deterrent effect of legislation

We cannot address litter and flytipping alone. We are committed to working together with our local partners to share resources, deliver objectives, provide knowledge and ideas, and influence others.

We will work with and alongside communities to achieve our aim of cleaner open spaces, focusing on prevention and insert into service delivery by:

  • Working in partnership
  • Focusing on need
  • Being honest, open and accountable
  • Providing equality of opportunity
  • Developing our employees
  • Making best use of our resources

We work with community groups, schools, individuals and local businesses and can help you improve your area in many ways, including:

  • Promoting through our communication channels such as our website, Facebook page – Take Pride in Falkirk and Tenant Talk articles to spread messaging about the good work being carried out in local communities throughout Falkirk.

  • Developing community resources in litter, dog fouling and flytipping prevention.

  • Encouraging interested organisations to create their own Litter Prevention Action Plans.

  • Taking enforcement action where it merits, such as issuing fixed penalty notices.
