  • Free School Meal Holiday Payments – payment of £2.50 per day for all young people eligible for free school meals during the school holidays.
  • Best Start Foods - a prepaid card that can be used to buy essential food items for those on a low income and have a child under 3 or pregnant. The card is topped up every 4 weeks with different amounts depending on the stage of pregnancy or the child's age. 
  • Best Start Grants – the Best Start Grant is a package of 3 grants that will give money to parents and carers on low income during the early years of a child's life. 
  • Scottish Child Payment – help towards the costs of supporting your family. It's a weekly payment of £27.15 that you can get for every child you look after who's under 16 years of age. You'll get the payment every 4 weeks if your application is successful.
