We monitor the supply of land for housing and produce the Housing Land Audit (HLA) annually.

The HLA estimates the number of houses to be built each year in the Council area. The 10 year housing supply target is established by the MATHLR in National Planning Framework 4. This is 5,250 for Falkirk.

The Falkirk Council area has enough housing sites in the Housing Land Audit to build 3,069 units to 2030 and a further 1,899 units after that. In addition to this deliverable supply of 4,968 units, a number of constrained sites with an indicative capacity for 2,226 units are not currently counted as contributing to the housing land supply. The total estimated supply is 7,194.

Completions and estimated delivery of units in the HLA, the Local Development Plan and anticipated windfall development are 5,071 units between 2020 and 2030.
